Our Culture
We do a pretty good job ensuring everyone has work-life balance, while occasional overtime may be needed if you’re on a deadline. We believe in transparency and hold monthly town halls so everyone is kept updated on company strategy and what all departments are working on. If you want to chat with our CEO Colin, his door is always open.
Central Location
Located in the heart of downtown Edmonton in a historic building, our airy and bright office is close to cafes, restaurants, downtown events, and transit. We're also close to river valley trails for keeners who want to go for lunch-time runs.
Relaxed, Homey Office
Work better from a couch? No problem. We have workspaces with comfy couches for meetings or relaxed work time. Local delivery company, SPUD, ensures our kitchen is always stocked with organic produce, coffee and tea. And if you're a coffee drinker, orientation will include a demo on how to use the deluxe espresso machine. If ping pong is your thing, you're in luck! Our ping pong table is the centre of the office and the source of daily fun matches (we even have a ping pong scoring channel on Slack).

Flexible Environment
Showbie offers a completely flexible work environment. Team members can work from home, a coffee shop, the YEG office, a hybrid model, or wherever you feel the most comfortable and productive. We offer a generous time-off policy and our offices are closed from Christmas to New Year’s to give our team a break.
Dress Code
Come to work in jeans, your favourite t-shirt, flip flops... our “dress code” is pretty casual.
Gear
You’ll be outfitted with Showbie swag (and who doesn’t love new hoodie softness?), and get to work on new Mac products. While working in an open-concept office has its benefits, sometimes you just need quiet time to concentrate. That’s why we provide a $200 allowance to purchase noise-cancelling headphones.
Lots of Celebrations
We have a Happiness Team whose sole purpose is to ensure employees are, as the name suggests, happy at work.
There are monthly mini events (think beer on a patio in the summer or lunchtime skating at City Hall in the winter) and a few bigger events, including a super fun Christmas party. And every Friday at 3:30 pm we shut it down early for Beer O' Clock - because enjoying drinks as a team is the perfect way to kick off the weekend.

Giving Back to the Community is Important to Us
That's why we select a charity to support each year and provide opportunities for the team to volunteer. Our current charity is Edmonton's Food Bank. In addition to our selected charity, we:
- Donate our empty bottles and cans to Empties to Winn (Beer O'Clock helps increase this donation!)
- Reduce unnecessary landfill waste and help those in need by donating our old devices and computers to the Electronic Recycling Association
- Donate leftover food from team events to Boyle Street Community Services
We also try our best to reduce our environmental footprint. Not only does our app save tons of paper each year, we are pretty much a paperless office. In addition, we support local companies as much as possible and use cleaning products in the office that are not tested on animals.
